Vest<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff8d26c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff8d26c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Alan was born in Chicago in 1911.\u00a0 After moving to South Dakota as a child, he graduated from Augustana College and the University of South Dakota Law School.\u00a0 Alan came to Sac City to establish the Vest Law Firm in 1938.\u00a0 He served in the United States Army from 1944-1946 as Chief Prosecutor of the Military Government Court in Bremen, Germany and was involved in the de-Nazification effort.\u00a0 When he returned to Sac City, he became active in politics and served two terms as State Senator for Carroll, Greene, and Sac Counties. \u00a0In 1955, he received the Des Moines Press and Radio Award for the outstanding member of the Iowa Senate from newsmen covering the legislative session.\u00a0 In 1957, he was elected president pro tempore by the members of the Senate.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-daac662 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"daac662\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>While practicing law for 58 years in Sac City, Alan served three terms as Sac County Attorney and developed a practice which included estate planning, probate, real estate, civil litigation, and income tax preparation.\u00a0 Alan retired from the practice in 1996 and passed away in 2007.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section South Dakota, in 1946 and graduated from Sac City High School.\u00a0 He received both his undergraduate degree and law degree from Drake University.\u00a0 After graduating from law school in 1972, he returned to Sac City to practice in the firm of Vest and Mather.\u00a0 His practice included income tax preparation, real estate, civil litigation, and probate before his death in 1981.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section Iowa in 1923.\u00a0 After serving in World War II, he received his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Iowa.\u00a0 After graduating from law school in 1949, Charles practiced as a sole practitioner before joining Alan Vest in 1963 to establish Vest and Mather Law Firm.\u00a0 Charles handled probate and estate matters, civil litigation, tax return preparation, and served as county attorney for several years, until his death in 1978.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
